Our story
GNM Automation Repairs & Maintenance LLC (GNM-ARM) was founded in Dubai, UAE, in 2017 under the leadership of Former Chief Engineer Mr. Nagendra Kumar. Built on decades of seagoing and shore-based experience, the company was created to solve a problem our engineers had experienced first-hand: finding dependable technical support for complex shipboard systems when vessels need it most.
What began as a specialist marine troubleshooting team has grown into a multidisciplinary maritime services company supporting shipowners, managers and vessel operators across the UAE & GCC, India, China, Singapore, and Europe – Further extending to Korea, Japan, and Africa. We offer rapid response and localized support, ensuring reliable service wherever your vessel operates.
Today, GNM-ARM combines practical engineering experience with in-house research and development, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified processes, and a trusted network across major maritime hubs. From diagnosing difficult faults to delivering reliable repairs and verified spare parts, we remain guided by the same principle on which the company was founded: Uncompromising Quality Workmanship, Timely Execution, Transparent Communication.
Founder's story
Mr. Nagendra Kumar is an experienced Marine Engineer with more than two decades of maritime experience, including 11 years at sea, where he rose to the rank of Chief Engineer, followed by 12 years in senior shore-based ship management. Before founding GNM-ARM, he held senior leadership responsibility for the safe, reliable and commercially efficient operation of Pacific Basin Shipping Limited’s Middle East fleet.
Known for disciplined execution, analytical decision-making and practical leadership, he has managed complex marine operations without compromising safety, compliance or asset value. His experience spans vessel operations, technical management, procurement, crewing, quality, finance and cross-functional team leadership.
In 2017, he founded GNM Automation Repairs & Maintenance LLC in Dubai to address a persistent industry need for dependable, engineer-led technical support. His vision continues to shape GNM-ARM today: respond with urgency, solve problems with technical depth and deliver every project with quality workmanship, timely execution and transparent communication.
Technical expertise
Experienced with major makers, we specialize in commissioning support, troubleshooting, retrofit assistance and genuine spare parts for ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) and exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS).
Specialist support for pneumatic & maneuvering system, and engine control systems, including electronic engine troubleshooting, control loop diagnosis and fault resolution for engine room and deck machinery.
Comprehensive inspection, repair, and maintenance of burner control systems for boilers, inert gas generators (IGG) and incinerators, from flame safeguard controls to full combustion management.
Implementation and troubleshooting support for alarm monitoring systems (AMS) and tank level monitoring systems, including sensor networks, signal conditioning and system integration.
Power management system support covering generator control, load sharing, engine protection and switchboard protection relays and trip units.
Calibration and servicing of marine instrumentation, pressure, temperature, level and flow, with traceable standards and clear documentation.
